Briton Bank Extension with Curved Wall

A simple extension with some unique features has added a spacious yet cosy entertaining space to this traditional home on the edge of Dartmoor.

The client had a very hands on approach to the build and a clear vision of what she wanted to achieve from this project.

She wanted a large space for entertaining friends and family. This included a great sound system, a cosy log burner and open plan kitchen. The property benefits from fantastic views of the moor, which are beautifully framed by the panorama window and bi-folding patio doors. The large patio is ideal for hosting parties and enjoying the extensive garden.

The contract works included erecting the single storey extension. The client also wanted to reconfigure the existing kitchen, dining area and the downstairs cloakroom.

A ground source heat pump system was installed during the build, adding some real eco credentials to the house.

Visible from the upstairs rooms is the flat roof with sedum planting, which adds all year colour and is a haven for insects.

The extension has limestone tiles, underfloor heating, a log burner and speakers hidden in the ceiling. The new kitchen has shaker style cupboards with granite worktops and a vaulted ceiling with roof light.
